CM LS2 in a 85 Vette with A4 trans

I am in the middle of doing this swap. I have a new LS2 crate coming from GM performance. I was told they don't have a stand alone harness at this time for the LS2 and 58 reluctor.

In doing some research I found a few vendors that will build a harness using either the Corvette or Trailblazer SS PCM - depending on if a auto or manual. Mine will be a 4L60E. I pulled the trans from a 01 silverado.

I already made all the cuts on the frame to fit the engine using a junk LS1 from a 98 Vette.

I plan on running Corvette accessories as they appear to clear with a small notch I made to the hood frame.

What issues should I expect to run into with the new gen LS2 crate? Trans issues? ???????

I have the build at:

The LS2 link is near the bottom of the history page.

Thanks!

HI there,
After alot of research, looking at the entire swap, there are a few concerns.
First, like was mentioned, because the 4L70 uses an input shaft speed sensor, the 4L60 that you have will NOT work correctly for a harness out of a07 Trailblazer SS or an 07 Corvette, the 2 just do NOT work.
Second, roughing in the block with an LS1 is great, just remember, the knock sensors may, depending on how tight you are, interfer with the mounts for the engine, so be cautious.
Please keep us all up to date on this project.

What if I go with a 06 Trailblazer SS PCM and trans controller?

Also...is a 06 Trailblazer SS a 58 tooth reluctor wheel?

HI there,
The system should work if the transmission control module and the engine control module are used.
Yes, the 6.0 LS2 has the 58 tooth reluctor.

Cool! Timing is everything, and I caught your comments on the 07 parts just in time to avoid ordering those, and switched to a 06 PCM.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Getting closer now!!!!!!!!!!!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-C6O6sVlHJE

Plan "A" was to drive this to Carlisle - but considering we got it running for the very first time last week - and just got exhaust on it Saturday...I think it will have a spot on the trailer all the way there. Plus, there is no interior, weather strips...etc.

We are just way behind on where we needed to be at this time...but it IS going to make it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By the way, we did use a 07 Trailblazzer SS PCM and trans module - and simply programmed OUT the input speed sensor issues so it is all working. I took it around the block already and it has all four forward gears and lock up.

OH....I did get the WRONG O2 sensors - so in this video clip you see a lot of black smoke because I have NONE it it right now (just plugs in the bungs) while I get the right ones this week. I suspect that will clean up then.

So far, this car feels like a beast compared to the old C4 stuff.

Specs:

07 GMperformance LS2
01 4L60E with 3,000 TCI stall and Scat shift kit
Pacesetter shorty headers
SLP cold air intake
Custom tuning
3.07 rear gear (I know...it is a grenade getting ready to blow - but no time or resources for a D44 right now)
07 Vette wheels
04 Vette brakes
All VBP springs/shocks/bushings
134 a/c conversion (blowing cold right now)

I should have this car over at the Corvette Central tent...so I hope to see you guys there!
