CM Crossed Flag Emblem Removal

I am trying to remove front and rear crossed flag emblems from my 08 Z.
I see 3M tape on them, but are they also attached with nuts on the inside like my new crossed flag emblems?

I've heard owners use fishing line (mono) to "saw" the chicklets loose. Don't know if they used a solvent to help release the sticky tape spooge. Your paint may suffer if you use an agressive solvent. There may be 2 holes in the front fascia for locating purposes, so you'll have to address that.

Thanks Norty,I managed to remove the front emblem damage free.Fishing wire, dental floss, heat gun.
But, yes, still residue remaining.
What type of cleaner should I use to remove the remainder of residue?
Here is a photo of why I am removing original crossed flags.

3M makes a good adhesive remover. I have had good luck using brake clean sprayed on a rag and then dabbing it lightly across the old adhesive.

I use WD-40 to remove tape spooge from wheel balance weights.

What I do~

Spray WD-40 on the spooge, use a brush that will keep the WD-40 on the spooge. Start by working the edge with the bristles. I kinda "jam" the bristles underneath the spooge. The idea here is to keep the WD-40 from drying and keep it working. The brush I use is a very small parts cleaning brush. (about 1/4 " wide.) It has fairly soft bristles too. The spooge will likely lift off in 1 piece, if you're not in a hurry.

I like using WD-40 instead of other chemicals as it isn't as harsh on the paint.

I have used goo gone in this situation in the past. It helps if you let it sit on the area for a little while before using a soft cloth to remove.
