I see more and more dealerships installing edelbrock superchargers and was wondering what your opinion was of this 550 hp kit?

OEM reliability and maintaince or a crapshoot to headaches?

I think it will be up to the driver as to reliability.

It's a mild supercharger as far as such things go, but I worry about the hyperutechnic pistons and the possible change in air-fuel ratio.

I can't imagine a firm like Edlebrock hasn't done tons of testing. Ford offers a supercharger that adds 212HP to the 5.0L Mustang and if dealer installed, keeps the 3/36 warranty, so 138HP out of 45 more cubes isn't an outrageous claim.

It seems that most modifications result in at least one headache. Very rearely is a mod problemless. I wouldn't do it because I don't need the extra power. It would just go up in wheelspin/smoke anyway.
If you're spinnin' and the other person is hooking, you lose. Period.
