CM Transmission Cooler Line

A few weeks ago, 600 miles ago to be exact, I had the local dealer flush the rad and transmission. On my way back from Corvettes at Carlisle the upper transmission cooler line at the rad let go. I had never heard of this happening before on any of the forums. The car is a 2005 coupe, no modifications to the engine and has only 38,000 miles on it. Has anyone heard of this before, or is this something to do with the rad and transmission flush? I am told that there are two transmission cooler lines, one at the top of the rad and one at the bottom and that the transmission cooler lines are a quick connect assembly. In any event, I don't think the line should have blown with the age of the car and miles. I do have the full extended warranty, but I am told that the GM Protection Plan in Canada does not cover this item as it does in the US. Any thoughts on a similar problem you might have had? thanks...Tim

Hi there,

If you had the transmission flushed, they woul have had to remove one of the transmission lines to connect the machine to do the flush.

There are plastic caps that hold the retaining clip that is on the fittings.

My only theory is that the cap wasnt installed to hold the clip on and it released the line.

Im hoping that the transmission wasnt damaged.

Allthebest, c4c5
