| I have bought AC Delco ceramic pads. Can I use these if I buy the AC delco drilled and slotted rotors or do I need to stick with the orig. non drilled slotted rotors. 01 C5 | ||||||||||||||||||||

I like 'em too. Very clean and effective for any driving I'll do. I'd skip the drilled rotors. They tend to crack more than slotted and unless you're hammering the car, need the extra cooling, and are willing to get in that accelerated maintenance cycle, leave 'em off.

Well, I might just do that. I was thinking of the drilled and slotted but maybe I will just go ahead and get the standard rotors. The less maintenance the better.

I installed my "dimpled" and slotted rotors 5 years ago (over 50,000) on my '99 and have had no problems. When I researched this most of the cracking problems had to do with overdoing the number of holes drilled.

I doubt it. The cracking is generally caused by hard use. If you drive like a grandma , you won't have an issue. If you "drive it like you stole it" , you will

I know the OP specifically asked about the AC Delco drilled/slotted. I don't have any experience with those but I do have lots of experience with others (I do about 15 track days a year and end up going thru lots of rotors). I've come to learn that not all rotors are created equal. For cheap rotors (read Chinese made) the drilled do indeed crack quite easily. But higher end drilled rotors can last every bit as long as solid. I have a set of PFC 2-piece drilled rotors that I've hammered on all season and they are still going strong. Slotted only rotors seem to hold up just as well as solid in the cheaper price ranges. So...if you like the look of slotted, there are several alternatives to the AC Delco that will hold up just fine. If you like the look of drilled then I'd recommend only the higher quality ones.
