Question 2004 Z16 Battery RC

I attended the Tech Session this past weekend at Carlisle on the C5, In that session, Paul said that when replacing a battery for a C5, the most important number to look for is a RC of 120, minimum. I still have my original battery (86Y6R) and it's rated at a RC of 110. If the factory equipped my Z16 with a battery with this RC, why do I need one with a 120 RC?

Thanks....

I think you are splitting hairs, 110/120 close enough. Mine is an rc of 90 & works fine but I do not expect to leave it sit 3 weeks & get a start. Mine is 04 z16.

HI there,

As we discussed in the seminar, the reserve capacity was for the models to 2003.

This is due to the 2004 system being different and not needing as much load capacity.

The 86 class was engineered for the 2004 only and is just fine.

Thank you for attending.

Allthebest, c4c5

I sat in same seminar an my take away was the torque lb/ft for the battery post of 11 pounds. I've got a 1/2 drive torque wrench but looking for 1/4 to snag the C5 side post. I notice they describe them in in/lb...

so, what's the formula to convert foot/bl to in/lb

thx

I mean I get it the setting is 132 and I'll need a 1/4 drive that with a range of 30 to 200 will work but its getting the formula correct with some precision.

And the specialist stated yes.
