i have cleaned my 2008 door panels 3-4 times with murphys oil soap as GM said to do but the white stuff keeps coming back. i have the red/black combo so what else will work that does not make them look greasy and shiny ?? i also want to do the dash so i want to keep the finish dull.. off to corvette carlisle in the morning and anyone who wants a cold beer stop at G110 and ask for clem. :D

It sounds like you need to make more noise with the dealer or GM. If they can't be cleaned, GM should replace them. Mark | ||||||||||||||||||||

I don't know if all cars have equal susceptability to this problem. Mine is a 2006 with the cashmire interior which has black on the dash and upper doors. What worked for me may not work on other cars. Anyway, I noted a little bit of this white material a couple years ago. After cleaning with Murphy oil soap I took a clean cotton rag (piece of old T shirt) and sprayed a very small amount of Son of a Gun (similar product to Amoral) and wiped the dash and upper door panels; I used a very small amount of the spray and I had to do quite a bit of rubbing to get even coverage and to be sure it was down in the grain. I immediately followed it with a completely dry and clean piece of the same material and rubbed extensively to remove as much of the residual Son Of A Gun and I could. The end result was a nice dull black appearance. I have since repeated this application once a year and I have had a nice looking dash & door panel and no more white stuff. My guess is that the Son of a Gun may be sealing the porosity from which the white stuff is emitted.
