1987 C4 Radio Tunning Issues

I cannot seem to figure out what the problem is. My radio intermittantly loses it's tunning to radio stations. Somedays i get in for a drive turn on the radio and it works fine. Somedays I get ina and drive and when I turn on the radio I only get static. Sometimes when I am driving down the road and the radio is working I lose the station and it never comes back, and then sometimes after a few minutes the station does come back. I am not sure if it's the antenna, or the cable between the antenna and the radio or if it's the radio. Is this s know problem with 1987's?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would be looking at all the connections for the antenna for the radio.

This would mean behind it, back at the power antenna and also any connection in between.
