My 2005 C6 automatic brake lights stay on when the car is cranked. The Cruise control does not work and it cranks without pushing the brake. I have had the battery checked and have disconnected the battery. I replaced the new Brake Pedal Sensor and still no results. I did notice the Brake Pedal Sensor arm (the one that makes it move with the pedal) was about 1/8 inches closer to the sensor than where the previous one had been. I also pulled the stop lamp in the fuse box and the brake lights still remain on. Can anybody help?

HI there, The switch is not adjusted correctly within the BCM. But I would also be checking for codes as well within the BCM. Allthebest, c4c5 |

Will adjust switch. Not throwing any codes. Checked several times with obd ii can. The switch does not appear to be adjustable. If it is what am I missing.? Do you pull out the arm?

HI there, Your OBD/CAN will NOT get body control module codes. That is not going to help you. You might have a grounded circuit also. Allthebest, c4c5 |

How do you make adjustments to the brake pedal sensor?

Hi there, I used the incorrect term above. There is NO adjustment to the brake pedal position sensor, its a calibration of what the BCM sees from the sensor. You must do a calibration of the sensor with a Tech 2 so that the BCM sees the voltage and understands what is the correct voltage at rest. Allthebest, c4c5 |

HI there, No, you do not reprogram the BCM, you simply allow it to relearn the correct brake pedal position signal. Allthebest, c4c5 |

It may be the BCM. Nothing has changed. Is there a way to test it? I still do not understand how the brake lights remain on even after I pull the stop lamp module. BTW, thank you so much for the help you are giving me.
