Cool C6 2005 Vert ripped open rocker panel.

I have an 12-14 inch rip in the passenger rocker panel just under the back half of the door. It goes all the way through the panel and is pretty smoothe... more like a deep scrape. Did not hear or feel anything. Actually is not very noticable...however I must replace the panel. My question to all/any of you is: How hard is it to remove and replace the panel? I have found one on e-bay that seems to be reasonable and is not cracked or dented.

HI there,

Do you have a picture of which panel it is, because if its the sill rocker panel that covers the frame, its not easy.

Unfortunately, that rocker panel goes the length of the underside and is BONDED to the frame.

It is a very long process to cut off the old one, clean frame, line up and then rebond the new one.

Allthebest, c4c5

The damage always looks bad when it's your own car.

HI there,

That could be repaired, truthfully.

Otherwise, it would have to be debonded from the frame rail and the new one correctly installed.

That looks like the kind of repair that a Bumper Doc type company could fix. See if you have one in your area.

A traditional body shop will be about 4x as expensive.

Your choice.

Definitely, repairable. You dont want or need to replace that. Just looks like a scrape that could be filled in and repainted. Best of luck

Do you think the frame rails sold by "Elite" would have prevented this ? Anyone have the new ones from "Elite" ??

Thanks - sorry to see the damage.
