CM Drivetrain clunk

I have a 94, 6 speed coupe with 110K on it. I've been chasing a clunk in the drivetrain for a while. From a very easy start I get a deep sounding clunk when I let the clutch out with very little gas. I can repeat it if I'm on a slight incline. It's like there is slack in the drivetrain. A couple of years ago I replaced all the U joints thinking that was the problem. That wasn't it. The suspension is tight because last fall I completely rebuilt the suspension using poly bushings, new ball joints and new tie rod ends. The Bilstien shocks were rebuilt at the factory. Any suggestions on where to start? Thanks!

When you say "all the u-joints", you mean the drive shaft AND the half shafts?

That is correct. I replaced the U joints in the drive shaft and the rear half shafts.

I'm leaning toward a TO bearing, or flywheel bolt problem.

How's the clutch fork look? How are your motor & trans mounts? Exhaust system? Anything loose or broken there could make such a noise.

HI there,

Or something in that driveline is loose.

I have seen arms with worn bushings create a noise like that.

How are your sway bar links? I broke a bolt once and it made that noise.

Have you serviced your differential lately?

HI there,

Im still leaning towards something loose.

Every single bolt needs to be checked.

Torque to specification and then evaluated for noise with a Chassis ears.
