CM '63 Corvette

Will be taking my '63 it to the alignment shop but what caster/camber setting do I use to get it there? I replaced ALL suspension components. What amount, if any, shims (thickness?) should be inserted in front and rear position on front upper A-arms? Q2: The rear camber is 20' +/- 30' so can I simply set the rear wheel verital using the camber eccenterics? Must the rear specs be set with weight of car on the wheels? Thanks for the assistance, Ed

HI there,

Until you get actual specs as to where you are at, there is no way to accurately assess what you will need.

The rear needs toe shims and the lower cams as you surmise.

Your alignment MUST BE SET ON AN ALIGNMENT RACK with all wheels down on the rack.

You cannot correctly set your alignment otherwise.

Allthebest, c4c5

Sorry for the Late Response. These are the specs we use in our shop for 63-67.

Front Caster +1.5 +/- .5
Camber +3/4 +/- .5
Toe 7/32 to 11/32

Rear Camber -1/3 +/- .5
Toe 0 to 1/16th Factory

On the Toe on the rear I use 1/8 to make the tire more vertical. It also does not seem to wear the tires. The Factory's 1/16th leaves the wheels leaning in at the top which does not look as good as the 1/8th setting.

Hope this helps

Regards
Ken
