Sounds like the battery is on the threshold at lower temps. How is the battery in the FOB?
The car battery is new and the fobs are 30 months old.

Change the battery in the fobs. See if this makes a difference.

Just had a thought~
Do you place the fob within a foor of other electronic devices?

Sometimes, RFI can be a problem.

Garage door openers (with roaming capabilities) seems to be a problem.
Cell phones (especially Black Berrys)
Pagers, RADAR detectors, CB radios, 2 way radios.
Something that happened to me~
I was with some fellow C6 drivers in Big bear Cal last fall. All the cars FOBS would not work after we had lunch. 8 cars, all stranded, 100 miles from home. We all had to use our regular keys to get back into our cars. Everyone's alarm went off when the doors were opened from inside the hatch area. (Cable pull over the left wheel arch.) We all got in and "NO FOBS DETECTED." was on our DICs. We waited about 5 minutes, then we could start our cars and get out of "The Twilight Zone!"

Turns out there was "high voltage" wires overheard where we parked. None of us have had any other issues with our FOBS since our run to Big Bear.

This only occurs when the temp is below 20 degrees. The cold weather is screwing something up.

HI there,
Im thinking you have water intrusion into something.

Honestly, I would be looking closer at the wiring and the like.

Here we go again, the doors were fine for a few months. Now if the car sitsfor more than three days the doors or hatch wont open. Pressed all of the buttons on the fobabout five times then the doors openen. Started right up, went to the corner store about a mile away, shut it off, when I tried to start got no fob. Tried it again and it started. Took it to the dealer and worked fine. I left the car, told them to let it sit for three days and then try it. The dealer says that it could be a module in the dash somewhere. This has been going on since day one. I do like this car, but if they cant fix it away it goes.

HI there,

Ok, so its now no longer temperature related. So the conditions have changed. No fob detected is your key.

The system will not function correctly if there is a low state of charge from the battery.

So, I am theorizing 2 things.

Electrical connection and/or remote control door lock receiver.

I would say that if you started the car and ran to the store, and it was showing no fob detected, that is surely some type of loss of electrical signal.

1 mile is not enough to recover a charge on the battery after starting.

They should have cleared the codes before they gave you the car back.

I think it would be critical to see what codes are there now.

If you have more voltage supply codes like you had last time, thats most likely the issue.

I took the car back to the dealer last Monday it's still there. They have had it now for eight days. They changed one module in the dash, now they say that another module needs to be replaced, on order. This is getting old. When they tell me it's done I will ask for the codes if any and post them along with what parts were changed.

Got the car back this evening, dealer states that there were no codes because there was no communication with the module??????????????????????????????
R4480 remote control door lock receiver replacement 38 W90
1 25882862 F- Receiver
1 Z5001 25882862
They did this twice, the first replacement module was defective.
Hope this is the end of this problem, thanks for your help. Ed.
