Well I bought my rims today! I got them off Craigs list and it was kind of destiny. I found the listing the day the guy listed them too. This is what I ran into before settling on what I did. I called the guy above, very nice guy but he did not have any Z06 rims left. He did have a deal on the GM polished alum, 5 spoke, for $500 plus center caps at $8 each. The rims were all 18 inches, so I would have had to buy at least two tires, and my 18 rear tires are not that nice right now. He had 40 set of these polished thin spoke left. Called another guy on ebay. He also had no Z06 argent and would not be getting any more. He had polished aftermarket Z06 or black. $600 shipped with caps. No thanks... So I turned to craigs list for the heck of it. Not in a real hurry to buy either. I ended up finding the same rims I have, 17 and 18 inch, only all chrome with caps and lug nuts off a 1999 Vette for $350! Price was $350 OBO! I immediately called, the guy still had the rims of course and I told him I would be there on Sat to take a look. I get there and the rims are near perfect, no rash, curbing or scratches! They were in boxes too because the guy had a 99 and put aftermarket chrome Z06 in it, but later got rid of the car and bought a 2004. He said I should have never replaced these with Z06, it did not look right and the tire place told me not too! He said you will like them a lot and I do! I have not seen many 99 Vettes with these rims. I see many C5's of all years with the thin 5spoke, polished alumn, too many in fact. Nothing against those rims or anyone that boguht them but I like the fact that you do not see many wagon wheels chromed. I know no one wants painted wagon wheels, so I am keeping mine too... I got these chromies just in time, I knew they would not last long at that price the guy said he should be charging more, but wants them gone and another guy was coming to look at them at noon. Nope sorry, I got them!

Damn it anyhow! ![]() I started cleaning up the inner lips of my new used chrome rims yesterday. Did two yesterday and figured I would do the other two today. Go get them, bring them inside and find one with a crack on the inner lip! ![]() I am so bummed! Called the guy, he agreed to give me my money back. Thankfully he is an honest small business owner, said to call him if I have any issues, does not need the money and I asked before I even left to go see the rims, if there was any cracks or pealing chrome. Just so frustrated here! I have never put rims on a car I have owned before and the first time I go to I run into all this hassle, not produced any more, and finally cracked rims. I am done, no more, I will stick with what I have and that is it. I did not need rims in the first place.

Sucks......I took chrome wagon wheels off my car after Discount Tire broke one of my wheels and didn't bother to tell me. I liked the polished thin spokes that I got from Bob. They were perfect.............More important is the weight savings. The speedline wheels that I bought from him were around 20 lbs or less each. Less unsprung weight equates to a performance improvement however small.

Yeah the weight savings would be nice for sure... I dunno, maybe I will try this again in a few months. Bob had a great price on the thin spokes but I would have had to get all new tires and my total bill would have been $1,000+ and I can't spend that right now.

Hey. Went to the drive thru pharmacy last night. Guy said I love your car. I told him yeah the Lord has blessed me. Told him about a 1967 Nova with rusted out floor boards when I was young. My son had to put his feet up in the seat to keep from getting wet when we drove in the rain. He said you've come a long way.....Tool, from where I'm sitting you're driving a car that once I wouldn't event ask about the price. It is an awesome car....Can't help but want to make them better though. I got my wish list too.
