This is just a reminder to all those who own C6. Clutch fluid level is to be between the MIN and MAX levels. NO attempt should be made to top off the fluid level unless at the MIN mark. Do NOT open the reservoir, simply look through the side of the reservoir. Refill with DOT 4 fluid or 88868860 Copyright, Corvettemechanic.com |

Thanks for the information. I won't have to worry about it though since I have an automatic. But I will pass it on to those who have manuals. Thanks again.

Is this something we need to check periodically? Mileage or months? If so any suggestion? Thanks in advance. JB | ||||||||||||||||||||

HI there, No, there was some confusion by other owners and myself as to the actual level that is required and seen from the factory. Allthebest, c4c5 |

I had been changing the fluid in the reservoir of my C5 occasionaly with the GM clutch fluid. I know the fluid getting dark does not hurt anything but I liked to keep it looking clean. I noticed the fluid in my 2008 Z06 was somewhat dark when brand new. Can I use the same fluid and is it ok to change the fluid in the reservoir occasionaly on my 08? Thanks for the help. |

Thanks Paul, but is it ok to change it occasionally eventhough it may not be necessary?

Sorry to be a pain. I have about 3/4 bottle of clutch fluid # 12345347. Is that ok to use in the 08 Z06? My car was built May 08 and the owner's manual says usee fluid # 88958860. It the 88608860 that you gave an updated fluid or part #? |

No, that was a typo. Your listing is correct. The old stuff in that bottle should NOT be used. Get a fresh bottle. Allthebest, c4c5 |
